Convertible Top Deck Lid Motor: Service and Repair

REPLACING ELECTRICAL CONVERTIBLE TOP LID DRIVE UNIT:

- Remove left luggage compartment trim.
- Disconnect drives.




- Unfasten tab washers (convertible top closed) and disconnect Bowden cables (1) and (2).




- Disconnect plug connection (1), detach cable bracket (2) and expose cable.
- Unfasten lower nuts.
- Disconnect top and bottom of Bowden cable on emergency release mechanism.




- Remove tab washer (1) and lift out drive linkages (2) for convertible top lid.
- Unscrew top and bottom nuts.
- Remove convertible top lid drive with bracket.

Installation:
- Adjust convertible top cover drive.
- Initialize.





Only replace:
- Unfasten screw (1) and remove levers (2).
- Unfasten screws (3) and remove convertible top lid drive unit from retaining plate.
