Bowden Cables
ADJUSTING BOTH BOWDEN CABLES FOR CONVERTIBLE TOP LID LOCKS:
NOTE: Removing left luggage compartment trim.
- Remove tab washer (1) and disconnect convertible top lid drive rod (2) from engine.
NOTE: If this proves impossible, loosen nuts and slide back convertible top cover motor until drive rod (2) can be removed and installed without tension.
- Insert household rubber hose through bore in convertible top cover drive rod (2) and secure the ends with a welding wire in the body aperture.
- Open side windows, move clamping bracket into upright position.
- Move convertible top lid into upright position by hand.
NOTE: If drives are not unlocked, continue to actuate convertible top actuator switch in direction "open" for approx. 3 seconds (possible risk of damage to Bowden cables).
- Press convertible top actuating switch in "Close" direction until the clamping bracket is upright.
- At this point, the convertible top lid motor continues to lower the lid. Keep convertible top actuating switch depressed until the clamping bracket starts to move again.
- Check that convertible top lid locks are in block position If it is possible to press them down, loosen the nuts (1) and adjust the Bowden cables until a secure block setting is achieved.
Only on right side:
- Pretension Bowden cable by another 2... 3 turns.
- Check function.
