Replacing Bowden Cable (Actuation Reversal on Trunk Lid)

Removing and installing / replacing Bowden cable (actuation reversal on trunk lid)






Open side windows.

Unlock soft top and raise over dead center.

Lift clamping bracket and soft top compartment cover upright.

Removing actuating lever, Service and Repair

If necessary, remove loudspeakers.






Squeeze together Bowden cable and lift out.

Remove cover on center guide (transfer point).






Lift out cover on reversing mechanism.






Lift out retaining plate and disconnect

Bowden cable. Squeeze together locking device and lift out Bowden cable.

Installation note:
Adjust Bowden cable to zero backlash.






Installation note:
Ensure springs are in good condition and correctly seated (zero setting of release lever not precise, rattling noises).
