SUBJECT:
Front Brake Noise

**MODEL:
M3, M roadster**

**Situation:
The brake pads installed in M3s and M roadsters in the production period of January 1997 through approximately September 1998 can result in excessive brake noise.**

**Correction:
The type of brake pad used in production was changed to Jurid 187 in approximately 9/97**

**Procedure:
In case of customer complaint, check the type of front pads installed on the car. If they are not Jurid 187, replace them with part number 34 11 1 162 535. Lubricate the metal to metal contact points with Bostik Never-Seez� and clean any glaze from the rotors by sanding lightly.**
