Seat Adjustment Switch Inoperative

MODEL:
Z3 roadster, M roadster/coupe Vehicles produced between 4/98 and 6/98

Situation:
Either the driver's seat switch, or the passenger's seat switch is inoperative at times.

Cause:
Contaminated contacts in Cherry seat switches manufactured before June 12, 1998.





Correction:
In case of customer complaint, operate the switch to confirm the complaint.





Procedure:
Remove the seat from the vehicle - refer to repair instructions 52 10 000

Install the replacement switch. Reinstall the trim panel and seat. Test the switch to confirm satisfactory operation.

Warranty Information:
Parts and labor are reimbursable under the terms of the BMW New Car Limited Warranty of 4 years/50,000 miles.

Use this labor operation number when the only repair performed is the listed warranty repair.

OR

+Associated Work:
Use this labor operation number when other repairs or services are performed along with the listed warranty repair.

Under no circumstances should both labor operation numbers be claimed. Attempts to claim both times will result in an unnecessary delay in claim processing and payment.
