Information:
The new BMW Remote Keyless Entry Security System Kit is now available for M roadster and M coupe vehicles. The new part number is 82 11 1 470 403.
The M roadster alarm kit is based on the existing alarm system P/N 82 11 1 469 913 (for the Z3 roadster) with some modifications which will allow installation in vehicles equipped with Motorsport engines.
The changes in the alarm kit consist of:
1. Modified alarm siren with extended wiring harness and bracket for installation inside the front bumper assembly.
2. Supplemental installation instructions for the alarm siren.
3. Wiring extension kit for alarm microphone/LED indicator assembly for installation in the area of the rear center console.
4. Supplemental installation manual for alarm microphone/LED indicator assembly.

Important parts information not included in the instructions:
Due to accessory controls located in front of the center console, it is necessary to install the alarm system microphone/LED indicator assembly at the right side of rear center console switch panel, located behind the hand brake (between seats). That location is currently occupied by the rear storage box (P/N 51 16 8 399 088), which should be removed from the vehicle and replaced by the rear switch plate (P/N 51 16 8 407 211). The plate requires two smaller blanking plates (P/N 5116 8 400 712) and one center plate (P/N 51 16 2 492 136). To secure the switch plate in the console, use the existing mounting frame (P/N 51 16 8 399 321) which was installed with the original storage box.

Note:
On vehicles equipped with the optional hard top, the rear switch plate with blanks are included in the top installation kit.
