Input Shaft Seal

Replacing radial seal on input shaft (S5D 20OG/260G)

Note: Transmission removed.

Removing release unit and release lever, refer to Clutch M/T.





Unfasten screws and remove guide tube.

Installation:
Install screws with screw retaining compound Loctite 242.
Tightening torque, refer to Manual Transmission/Transaxle, Specifications.





Note: Two covered removal holes (1) are located on front end of radial sealing ring.





Screw special tool 23 0 490 into one of the two removal holes.
Pull radial sealing ring out of transmission housing with impact weight.





Fit special tool 23 2 460 to the transmission input shaft.
Coat sealing lips of new radial seal (1) with transmission oil and slide firmly home on transmission case.
Remove special tool 23 2 460 from the transmission input shaft.





Drive radial seal (1) firmly home with special tool 23 2 430.
