Extension Housing Seal, M/T

Replacing radial seal for output flange (S5D 200G/250G)

After completion of work, check transmission oil level.
Disconnect propeller shaft from transmission flange and tie up to one side, refer to Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and Joints.





If necessary, lift out retaining plate (1).

Installation note:
Do not fit retaining plate.





Brace output flange with special tool 23 0 020.
Unfasten collar nut with special tool 23 1 210.

Installation note:
Install collar nut with suitable screw retaining compound.
Tightening torque, refer to Manual Transmission/Transaxle, Specifications.





Remove output flange from transmission output shaft with special tool 33 1 150.





Remove radial seal with special tool 00 5 010.





Coat sealing lips of new radial seal with transmission oil.
Drive in radial seal flush with special tool 24 0 110.
