Throttle Body: Service and Repair

- Unfasten screw and remove cover (1).




- Unscrew and disconnect cables (1 and 2, if applicable).

1 = accelerator pedal
2 = actuator motor on cruise control

Installation Note: Adjust cable,




- Unfasten hose connector (1) and remove gaiter.
- Remove air flow sensor or mass air flow sensor with upper section of intake filter housing.




- Pull off connector from throttle-valve switch.




- Pull off vacuum hoses.




- Remove and seal hoses (8 and 9) from preheating element (a small amount of coolant escapes).




- Unscrew nuts (1 ... 4).
- Pull off throttle-valve assembly.

CAUTION: One throttle-valve setting is not possible. If incorrectly handled, the throttle body must be replaced.




Installation Note: Replace seals (6 and 7).
