4-Door Models




Removing and installing complete mounting bracket for windshield wiper system with motor (4-door model)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove wiper arms, refer to Wiper Arm - Service and Repair - Procedures Service and Repair






- Remove grille cover of air collector.






- Loosen wiring harness on end wall.
- Bend soundproofing mat to one side; release screw.






- Remove screws of cable channel.






- Press wiring harness to one side. Remove screws. Remove holder.






- Pull out air collector in upwards direction.

M50 ONLY:






- Unclip covers.
- Unscrew bolts.
- Remove cover of injection-valve plate.

ALL:






- Unclip covers.
- Unscrew bolts.






- Remove cover.






- Mask off cowl panel on inside and at edges with plastic sheet or similar. This prevents the cowl panel from being scratched when the wiper mounting bracket is removed.






- Wrap driver's side wiper shaft in insulating tape to prevent scratching cowl panel during removal.
- Unscrew nuts.

Installation:

- Tightening torque refer to chart below, 5AZ






- Remove complete support.
- Unfasten screws.

Installation:

- Tightening torque refer to chart below, 9AZ






- Disconnect plug connection at bulkhead/wiper motor.
















- Feed mounting bracket for windshield wiper system complete with motor out of body as shown in above illustrations






Installation:
- When installing cable duct make sure rubber grommets of cable penetrations are properly fitted.

Installation:

- Observe tightening sequence of screws/nuts

1. At cowl panel (large nut), 5AZ
2. Support on wiper motor, 9AZ
3. Support on woper motor, 8AZ
