Removing/Installing Cassette (Condenser For Air Conditioner)



Note:
The evaporator for the air conditioner is integrated in this cassette.
Depending on the car model, the individual coolers for steering hydraulics, automatic transmission and engine oil are all installed in the cassette.





Layout of connections (version 1)
1 Engine Oil Cooler
3 Transmission Fluid Cooler





Layout of connections (version 2)
1 Engine Oil Cooler
3 Transmission Fluid Cooler

Remove fan cowl, refer to Fan Shroud, Service and Repair.
Remove radiator, refer to Radiator, Service and Repair.





Remove lines for power steering and, if necessary, lines for engine and transmission oil cooler.





Installation:
Replace sealing rings.





Draw off refrigerant from A/C system, refer to Heating and Air Conditioner.
Remove lines from air conditioner.

Installation:
Replace sealing rings.
Evacuate and fill A/C system, refer to Heating and Air Conditioner.





Tilt cassette backwards slightly and lift upwards to remove.




Installation:
Note rubber mounts on front wall.
