New Locking Functions

Starting with late 1994 model year vehicle production, activation of the central locking system from outside the vehicle (via door lock or remote control, as applicable) will automatically activate the double lock mode.

That is, there is only one key position to lock and double lock the vehicle.

This locking action will, as in the past, lock the trunklid and fuel filler door, and disable the fuel injection and ignition circuits.

The factory installed remote alarm on 54Oi and 840Ci models uses slightly different functions on the master keys.
