Front Fender Auxiliary Turn Signals/Front Seat Occupancy

All 3, 5 and 8 - Series models received auxiliary turn signal lights in the front fenders as of 3/94 production.

3, 5, and 8 - Series models will all incorporate a sensor in the front passenger seat, phased in during 6/94 production. This sensor detects if the seat is occupied (25 lb. min.) and will correspondingly send or block the signal for passenger airbag deployment if impact conditions are met. This is to reduce repair costs in the event of an accident if no passenger is present, in that the passenger airbag is not deployed unnecessarily.
