Band: Adjustments

Adjusting brake band (A4S 270R/310R)





Remove oil drain plug (1).
Drain automatic transmission fluid.

Installation:
Filling system with automatic transmission fluid.





Remove oil pan (1).

Installation:
Clean sealing surfaces.
Use new gasket.
Use new screws (microencapsulated).
Insert all screws until contact is made with screw head in each case.
Then tighten all screws in sequence once to specified torque.
Tightening Torque: Mechanical Specifications

Caution: Do not tighten screws diagonally and evenly and do no tighten screws any further.





Release screws with special tool 24 5 180 and remove oil strainer (1).

Installation:
Use new oil strainer.

Unfasten screws with special tool 24 5 180.
Remove cover (1) from servo piston.

Installation:
Clean sealing surface.
Tightening Torque: Mechanical Specifications





Remove gasket (1).

Installation:
Clean sealing surface.
Use new gasket.





Grip servo piston at fitting (1) with special tool 24 2 330 and loosen lock nut (2).





Grip servo piston at fitting (1) with special tool 24 2 330
Tighten adjustment screw (3) with special tool 24 2 32
Tightening Torque: Mechanical Specifications
Release adjustment screw (3) through 5 turns.
Tighten lock nut (2).
