Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair

Replacing all solenoid valves (A4S 270R/ 310R)

Oil sump removed. Service and Repair

Arrangement of solenoid valves (SV)





a) Solenoid valve (32) 2nd/3rd gear
Pry off plug (1) with a screwdriver.
Do not pull off plug on wires.
Pull out pin (2) (use snippers).

Installation:
Replace pin (2).
Pin must protrude about 5 mm.
Pull or press (use screwdriver) out solenoid valve.





Installation:
Coat seals with grease (Vaseline).
Press in solenoid valve as far as stop.





b) Solenoid valve (33) 1./2. and 1/4. gear
Pry off plug (1) with a screwdriver.
Do not pull off plug on wires.
Pull out pin (2) (use snippers).

Installation:
Replace pin (2).
Pin must protrude about 5 mm.





Pull or press (use screwdriver) out solenoid valve.

Installation:
Coat seals with grease (Vaseline).
Press in solenoid valve as far as stop.





c) Solenoid valve, brake band (29) removing oil screen, refer to Transmission Filter. Service and Repair
Pry off plug (1) with a screwdriver.
Do not pull off plug on wires.
Press in solenoid valve - light spring pressure - and pull out pin (2) by hand or with a pliers if necessary.





Pull out solenoid valve.
Watch out for corrugated washer (3).





Installation:
Coat seals with grease (Vaseline).
Install solenoid valve that groove (4) is aligned with bore (5).
Press in solenoid valve that pin (2) can be inserted.





d) Solenoid valve (38) converter clutch
Pry off plug (1) with a screwdriver.
Do not pull off plug on wires. Remove screw (2).

Caution: Inch threads.





Pull or press (use screwdriver) out solenoid valve.

Installation instructions:
Coat seals with grease (Vaseline).
Press in solenoid valve up to stop and secure.
