Without Air Conditioning



Replacing Heater Core (Without A/C)





- Pull off rubber part and pry out grill.





- Remove screws from cable channel.





- Remove screws on right-hand side and take off holder.





- Remove screw on left side and pull out air collector in upwards direction.

Note:
Air collector will be difficult to pull out.





- Loosen nut and place water flange to one side. Blow air into delivery line to ensure that residual coolant from heater core does not drip onto carpet.

Installation:
Tightening torque 3.5 Nm (2.6 ft lbs).
Replace 0-rings.





Sedan, Coupe, Convertible
Unscrew studs.

Installation:
Tightening torque 2 Nm (1.5 ft lbs).
Replace 0-rings.





- Compact
Unscrew bolts.

Installation:
Tightening torque 1 Nm (8.9 in lbs).
Replace 0-rings.





- Unscrew bolts.





- Pry out lower trim panel.

On US vehicles:
Release screws and remove knee protection.
Remove holder for strip connector from steering column.





- Remove screw and take off double-pipe.

Installation:
Tightening torque 3 Nm (2.2 ft lbs).
Replace 0-rings.

Note:

Sedan, Coupe, Convertible
Remove screw and pull out heater core.

Note:
Shown on removed heater for better demonstration.

Installation:
Tightening torque 1 Nm (8.9 in lbs).





Compact
Remove screw and pull out heater core.

Note: Shown on removed heater for better demonstration.

Installation:
Tightening torque 1 Nm (8.9 in lbs).
