Oil Pan: Service and Repair

REMOVING OIL PAN






Unscrew bolts and remove lower oil-pan section.

Installation:
Replace seal.
Tightening torque:
M6 8.8 Thread = 10 Nm. -(7.4 ft. lbs.)
M8 8.8 Thread = 22 Nm. -(16.5 ft. lbs.)






Unscrew bolts and remove oil pan.






Installation:
Sealing faces clean and free of seal debris.
Coat sealing edges on separating face with 3 Bond 1209.

Replace seal.
Tightening torque:
M6 8.8 Thread = 10 Nm. -(7.4 ft. lbs.)
M6 10.9 Thread = 12 Nm. -(9 ft. lbs.)
N42 M8 8.8 Thread = Replace Screws 30 Nm. - (22.2 ft.lbs.)
All Others M8 8.8 Thread = 22 Nm. - (16.5ft.lbs)






Installation:
Make sure seal is positioned correctly (not inverted).






Installation:
In order to prevent distortion during subsequent gearbox installation, align oil pan flush with crankcase on gearbox side.
