Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

1. Raise and lock hood into vertical service position by disconnecting gas struts, then secure hood hinges with suitable bolts.
2. Remove fresh air ducting as necessary to access wiper components.
3. Remove wiper arm pivot covers, then remove wiper arm retaining screw and nut using a suitable "Torx tool.
4. Using a suitable puller remove wiper arm from pivot shaft.
5. Remove cover over wiper assembly.
6. Turn wiper switch On, then turn ignition On then Off to move and stop wiper linkage out of park position to allow access to mounting screws.
7. Disconnect electrical connector.
8. Remove wiper assembly mounting screws, then lift assembly out.
9. Remove nut from motor shaft, then linkage arm.
10. Remove motor to frame mounting bolts, then the motor.
11. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Ensure wiper motor and wiper linkage are in park position before tightening motor shaft nut.
b. Connect and run wiper assembly prior to attaching wiper arms to ensure entire assembly is in park position.
c. Clean old sealant from wiper arm pivot shafts, install wiper arm retaining nuts and screws using a suitable sealant.
d. Adjust wiper blade contact pressure as outlined under "Wiper Blade Contact Pressure, Adjust".
