Replacing Microfilter (IHKA)

The filter is located in the passenger compartment, under the dash.

Trim Panel Located On The Center Console On The Right Hand Side.:

- Remove screw and pull trim panel off of center console on right-hand side

Air Duct Behind Glove Box.:

- Remove the glovebox.
- Remove screws and tilt the air duct downwards.

Control Unit.:

- Pull plug off of final stage.

Control Unit Sliding In And Out Of The Guide.:

- Press down retainer and pull control unit out of guide; then place together with wires behind the heater.

Pulling The Final Stage Out.:

- Remove screws and pull the final stage out.

Removing The Cover.:

- Remove screw (1), turn holder (2) about 90° and remove the cover.

Removal And Installation Of The Micro-Filter.:

- Pull out micro-filter.

NOTE: In RHD models the filter is split longitudinally so that it will be easier to pull it past the steering column.
