SUBJECT:
Oil Pressure Warning Light Comes On

MODELS:
E32 with M60 engine and E31, E38 with M60 or M73 engines

Situation:

An oil pressure switch which incorporates loose electrical pin connectors may have been installed on the above models.





If the switch pin connectors are loose (not staked properly during production as shown in the illustration), engine vibrations may cause the pins to make contact with ground resulting in the oil pressure warning light coming on even though the engine oil pressure is OK.

Correction:

If the above situation is encountered the oil pressure switch pin contacts should be checked and the switch replaced if necessary.
