Band Apply Solenoid

The band apply solenoid is a normally open flow-regulating solenoid located in the rear valve body. The solenoid is activated by the EGS control unit using a pulse width modulation signal (PWM). The signal is of constant frequency with a variable open to closed time ratio known as the duty cycle. In case of an electrical failure, the solenoid regulates at the maximum oil flow (0% duty cycle).
