Situation:

Prior to disposal all airbags must be deployed. As of model year 1994 all airbags may be deployed safely by using a new Triggering adapter lead. The previously distributed airbag trigger lead (refer to S.I. 04 15 85 (1096) P/N 88 88 6 621 270) must be connected to the new adapter lead for model year 94 and newer vehicles. Complete Airbag scrapping instructions can be found in TIS dated 12/95 -- section R32 34 in the E38 Repair manual.
