Maintenance Schedules (refer to S.I. 00 05 93 (3769)

- BMW NA now pays for the cost of materials and labor for the Quality Certification II (QC II). This service is free of charge for the customer.

- Oxygen Sensor Replacement interval is now 100,000 miles for all models.

- Oil filter is first changed at the Oil Service rather than at QC II at 1200 miles. As previously, the E36 does not require any oil change at the QC II.

- Rear axle oil is first changed at the first Oil Service rather than at QC II for all models as of 8/93 production. This results from changing to synthetic oil on the 525i/iT and 530i/iT. This oil has been used on the 540i since start of production in 3/93.
