Hood Protection/All Season Traction (ASC + T)

1994 E36 and 525i/iT, 53Oi/iT vehicles built as of 9/93 will be factory prewired for hood protection. An underhood switch will be connected to a wire leading to a dedicated single pin connector near the alarm multi-pin plug. 1994 E32 vehicles also feature hood protection. This circuit will be monitored when using the 1994 BMW alarm.

NOTE:
540i and E31 have hood protection incorporated into the factory installed DWA.

Hood protection can be activated on all 1994 models by using the OBC, DWA, Alpine alarm, or dealer installed 1994 BMW alarm system (except 540i produced prior to 9/93).

As of 9/93 production, ASC + T will be available on all models except the 318i/is/iC:

Standard on 750iL, all 8-Series

Optional on 325i/is/iC; all 5-Series; 740iL.

Since this will be a stand alone option, the "inclement weather package" is no longer offered. The other options of that package such as heated seats or ski bag are available independently of ASC + T.
