With Out H-31 System

REMOVING AND INSTALLING POWER STEERING PUMP


Draw hydraulic fluid Out Of the tank -
never reuse it.
Unscrew pipes.






Installation:
Replace gaskets.
Tightening torque 45 Nm. (32.5 ft. lbs.).
Bleed hydraulic system.



M 20:






Loosen nut (1) and take tension off of the drive belt by turning toothed element (2).






Unscrew bolts and take off power steering pump.

Installation:
Tighten the drive belt prior to tightening the bolts.


M 30:






Unscrew bolts (1).
Loosen nut (2) and turn the tensioning pinion.
Remove bolts (1).






Installation:
Tighten drive belt prior to tightening bolt (1).
Tighten the tensioning pinion with about 8 Nm (6 ft. lbs.) torque and tighten the nut.






Check tightness of drive belt with Special Tool 11 5. ...
Hook bears on tip of tooth.


Important!
Make sure of sufficient clearance between hoses and body parts making corrections on the hose connections if necessary.
