Power Steering Bleeding: Service and Repair
FILLING AND BLEEDING POWER STEERING1. Filling with Stopped Engine:
- Fill oil tank up to dipstick mark "MAX" or distance A = about 25 mm (1") below edge with hydraulic fluid.
2. Bleeding:
- Start engine. Turn steering wheel twice each against left and right locks.
3. Checking Oil Level With Stopped Engine:
a) Without Ride Level Control: Fill up to "MAX" mark.
b) With Ride Level Control: Lift rear axle until wheels clear ground. Oil level must be max. 5 mm (0.197") above bottom of filter screen after two minutes.
Correct deviation in oil level with the engine stopped.
