Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

Coil Remove:

REMOVAL
- Unclip cover on screws for the igniton coil cover.
- Unscrew bolts.
- Remove cap of oil filler neck.

Coil Remove:

- Lift and pull out igniton coil cover.

NOTE: If it is not possible to remove the igniton coil cover, the fuel injector cover strip must be removed.

Injector Strip Remove:

Fuel Injector Cover Strip Removal
- Unclip cover on screws for the fuel injector rail.
- Unscrew bolts.
- Take cover off of fuel injector rail.
- Twist out ignition coil cover.

Coil Remove:

- Open lock on plug connection.
- Pull of plugs.

Direct Ignition Component Locations:

- Unscrew bolts.
- Pull out ignition coil.

INSTALLATION
- Reinstall ignition coils in reverse order.

Ground Strap Location:

NOTE: Ground straps of the cylinder head cover must be secured on the igniton coils for cylinder 3 and 6.

Mutual Ground Wire 4a Location:

NOTE: Mutual ground connection of ignition coils (wire 4a) is screwed on front end of the cylinder head.
