REMOVAL

Catalytic Converter Removal:

1. Disconnect the oxygen sensor harness connector.
2. Remove the oxygen sensor lead from the body holders.

Catalytic Converter Removal:

3. Unscrew the exhaust pipes at the exhaust manifolds.
4. Support the Catalytic converter with an appropriate device.
5. Unscrew the exhaust carrier bolt at the transmission bracket.
6. Remove the exhaust flange bolts at the rear of the catalytic converter.
7. Lower the catalytic converter.

INSTALLATION

1. Install new front exhaust flange gaskets.
2. Install new rear exhaust flange seals.
3. Lift the converter into place.
4. Mount the transmission carrier without tension. Do not tighten at this time.
5. Install the rear flange bolts. Do not tighten at this time.
6. Install new self-locking front exhaust flange nuts and uniformly torque to 40 ft. lbs.
7. Torque rear flange bolts uniformly to 16 ft. lbs.
8. Torque the transmission exhaust carrier bracket to 16 ft. lbs.
9. Reconnect oxygen sensor and reposition harness in body holders.
10. Check for exhaust leaks and correct exhaust assembly alignment.
