Valve Cover: Service and Repair

If applicable pull connectors off ignition coils.







Unscrew nuts. Remove ignition coils.
Installation:
Check for earth strap of ignition coils at cylinders 3 and 6.







Unscrew cylinder-head cover.







NOTE: Cylinder-head cover is separated from cylinder head rubber mounts and seals to prevent oscillation.
Check arrangement of cover installation.
1. Cover nut
2. Washer
3. Rubber mount







Installation:
Check cover seal, replacing if necessary.
Place outer and inner cover seals on cylinder head in advance.







Installation:
Check for correct seating of seal on back of cylinder head when installing cylinder-head cover.

Installation:
Install and align cover.
Screw on cover nuts, but do not tighten them.
Tighten cover nuts diagonally from inside to outside.
Tightening torque:
M6 screw = 10 Nm
M7 screw = 15 Nm
