Cruise Control Servo: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect connector No. X70 from cruise control actuator.
2. Test electromagnetic clutch as follows:
a. Connect pin 3 at actuator to positive battery terminal with a jumper wire.
b. Connect pin 2 at actuator to a vehicle ground point with a jumper wire.
c. The electromagnetic clutch must produce an audible click sound.
3. Test electrical motor as follows:
a. Connect pin 4 at actuator to positive battery terminal with a jumper wire.
b. Connect pin 1 at actuator to a vehicle ground point with a jumper wire.
c. The electrical motor must begin to operate.
4. Replace cruise control actuator if either of the above steps fail.
