Electronic Control
Sunroof (SHD/ZKE):General Block Diagram:
Functional Description:
The electrically operated sunroof (SHD) is controlled by the general module (GM) of the Central body electronics (ZKE). The sunroof relay (SHD) is located in the relay module (RM). The working circuits are protected by the external fuse relay.
Operation:
The sunroof is operated with the sunroof switch (SHD). The switch connects ground to the general module.
Operation of the sunroof is possible for as long as the power windows can be operated.
Operating Principle:
The sunroof and power windows are switched with a total of seven relays. The circuit is designed in such a way that several relays are activated simultaneously for the directions "close window" or "open/lower sunroof". All five motor drives have one common relay only for the direction "open window" or "close/lift sunroof".
With the aid of two position sensors, the general module can detect whether the sunroof has reached its end positions. The sensors switch to ground when the sunroof is open. Based on the sequence of the ground signals, the general module detects whether the sunroof is raised or open (slid).
Automatic Strike Feature:
When the switch for opening and closing is struck briefly, the sunroof is completely opened or closed automatically. Operation of a power window switch interrupts this function immediately. The automatic strike feature is ineffective for the "raise" function.
Central Closing:
The windows and the sunroof can be closed via the door locks. For this purpose, the key must be held for approx. 2 seconds in the position lock or arrest. The power window motor drives are activated in the sequence:
Passenger's side - driver's side - sunroof. On the basis of the end position sensor, the general module detects when a window is completely closed.
The sunroof is not activated before all windows are closed
