Defect Codes 01 - 03

Defect Codes 01, 02, 03:

*D* 900 Defect code memory: Defect code 01, 02, 03 stored:

- one Or several defects -

Explanation: With the aid of the diagnostic links, the general module detects whether the ZV relays in the relay module pick up and drop out again when the central locking system is activated.

Diagnostic lines:

With connector GM-C: From RM-A 10 to GM-C 1 and from RM-A 9 to GM-C 15.
Without connector GM-C: From RM-A 10 to GM-B 25 and from RM-A 9 to GM-B 13.
A defect code is also stored if the wires themselves are broken.

Note: The diagnostic link from GM-C 1/B 25 to RM-A 10 also serves the purpose of checking the wiper relay in the relay module (RM).

Possible cause: Wires GM-RM, relay in RM, ground wire RM-B 12.

Troubleshooting:

- 1. If All central locking functions are defective, continue with diagnostic procedure ZKE Central Body Electronics, Defect code 03.
- 2. If no defect can be detected despite a defect code being store, check diagnostic link from the general module (GM) to the relay module (RM) (see above). Repair defective wires.
- 3. Only defect code 01 is stored, arrest function faulty: Check wire from RM-B Pin 4 to GM-B Pin 5, repair as necessary. If wire is OK., replace relay module.
- 4. Only defect code 03 is stored, unlocking function faulty: Check wire from RM-B Pin 2 to GM-B Pin 18, repair as necessary. If wire is OK., replace relay module.
- 5. Defect codes 01 and 02 are stored, locking function faulty: Check wire from RM-B Pin 3 to GM-B Pin 17, repair if necessary. If wire is OK., replace relay module.

ZV Systems with Decoupling of ZV Motor Drive:

1. Check ZV locking linkage for mechanical defects, repair if necessary.
2. Check wires from defective ZV motor drive to ZKE relay module, repair if necessary.
3. If wires and mechanical systems OK., replace defective ZV motor drive.
