Intake Air Plenum: Service and Repair

Removing and Installing Intake Filter Housing (M50, M50TU, S50US, M52, S52)

Switch off ignition






Twist and pull off connector (1)






Remove hose from idle speed actuator in rubber gaiter (2)
Unfasten hose clip and remove bellows






Unfasten nuts (3 and 4)
Remove suction filter housing with mass air flow sensor and rubber gaiter






If necessary, unfasten clips (3 and 4)
Disconnect intake filter housing from mass air flow sensor

Installation:






Install housing support in rubber mount
First install intake snorkel
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in memory, rectify faults and clear fault memory.
