DME Connector View:
1. With the ignition switch in the "OFF" position, disconnect the Digital Motor Electronic (DME) control unit harness connector X6000 (control unit is located in the E-Box). See COMPONENT LOCATIONS.
2. Connect a FUSED jumper between brown wire (terminal 27), of the DME control unit harness connector and ground.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the run position and MOMENTARILY connect a FUSED jumper between brown/violet wire (terminal 32), of the DME control unit connector (X6000), and ground.
4. Listen and feel fuel injector #6.
^ If the fuel injector valve clicks, remove fused jumpers. Replace the DME control unit.
^ If the fuel injector does not click, remove FUSED jumper at brown/violet wire (terminal 32)
5. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, disconnect harness connector from fuel injector valve #6.
6. Turn the ignition switch to the run position and measure the voltage at the injector connector (X6106).
^ Red/White wire (terminal 1) and ground = Battery voltage. If not check wire to the DME main relay for open.
^ Brown/violet (terminal 2) and red/white wire (terminal 1) = 0 volts. If not check wire to terminal 32 of DME control unit connector X6000 for a short to ground.
^ Brown/violet wire (terminal 2) and ground = 0 volts. If not check wire to terminal 32 of the DME control unit connector X6000 for a short to voltage.
7. Reconnect a FUSED jumper between terminal 32 of the DME control unit harness connector X6000 and ground.
^ Brown/violet (terminal 2) and red/white wire (terminal 1) of X6106 = battery voltage. If not, check brown/violet wire to terminal 32 of connector X6000 for an open.
^ If all the voltages are correct, remove fused jumpers and replace fuel injector #6.
