SUBJECT:
Air Conditioning Howl/whistle, R-134a

MODELS:
1993 MY E30 Convertible (R-134a Equipped)

Situation:
Since 1993 model year production, all E30 convertible vehicles have been equipped with air conditioning systems charged with the refrigerant R-134a.

We have received a few reports of whistling or howling noises coming from the evaporator area when the compressor cycles on.

Correction:
In the case of a customer complaint, replace the suction (low) side hose with the special hose below.
