Oil Pan: Service and Repair
REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL PANAll wheel drive models only:
Lower front axle carrier and remove front axle final drive Service and Repair
Disconnect ground wire (1)
Rear wheel drive
Unscrew steering gear on front axle carrier.
Disconnect ground wire (1)
Lift wire (2) out of holder and disconnect.
All Models
Unscrew cover/reinforcement plate.
Drain oil
Unscrew oil pan.
Detach pressure relief valve and oil pump
Remove oil pan.
Installation:
Insert oil pump drive shaft.
Replace gasket.
Installation:
Clean sealing surfaces.
Apply coat of brush on universal sealing compound / Three Bond Silicon 1207 on joint surfaces of timing case cover and end cover
All wheel drive
Oil pan is sealed with Tree Bond Silicon 1207
Only apply a small amount of this sealing compound and sread it uniformly, to avoid having it get into the engine oil and plugging the oil filter screen
