Increased Window Thickness

MODELS:
E36 318i, 325i

Situation:
The front door window thickness of 4-door E36 models was increased from 3.2 mm to 4 mm in 2/93. This production change also necessitated increasing the dimension of the window guide seal. The seal was redesigned in such a manner that the new seal will fit either the 3.2 mm or the 4 mm window.

When replacing a front door window on a vehicle produced prior to 2/93, the new style guide should be installed. However, if just a guide is being replaced on a vehicle produced prior to 2/93, it is not necessary to replace the window.
