Sunroof Failure

Situation:
Due to an error in manufacturing by a supplier, sunroof assemblies produced in the period January 1, 1992 through March 31, 1992 may experience a problem with the sunroof drive cables slipping, thus causing the sunroof to fail.

Correction:
In case of a complaint of the sunroof cables slipping, check the production date of the sunroof assembly by removing the sunroof switch panel and checking the production date sticker on the sunroof frame. If the date on this sticker is between January 1, 1992 and March 31, 1992, the sunroof cassette (frame) must be replaced. If the production date is outside of this range, normal repair procedures should be followed.

Warranty Status:
Covered under the terms of the BMW New Car Warranty.
