SUBJECT: Windshield Wipers

MODELS: E36


Situation: Early production E36 model wiper arms can contact the edge of the hood if the wipers are turned ON when the hood is fully open (workshop position).

This can result in damage to the hood, wiper arms, and windshield.

Whenever one of the affected models has the hood raised to the fully open
(workshop) position, the wiper relay or fuse F36 should be removed to prevent accidental activation of the wipers.
