SUBJECT: Revised Repair Procedure

MODELS: All with M30 or M50 engine (production date 2/91 and later)





Situation: A new design flywheel has been phased into production in BMW models with M30 or M50 engines beginning in February 1991. New repair procedures have been developed to eliminate the possibility of damaging the automatic transmission during installation on vehicles with the new one-piece sheet metal flywheel.


Information: A copy of the new repair procedures (outlined in the enclosure) will be included in the following editions of the respective Repair Manual fiche:
