Chafing Damage to Convertible Top Material

MODELS:
325i Convertible

Situation:





When raising or lowering the covertible top, the top material may rub against the edge of the storage compartment lip. Some cars produced prior to 9/88 may have a burr on the seam along this lip, which can chafe the top material.



Correction:
Grind down the burred areas until smooth, and touch-up affected section.



Warranty Status:
Covered under the terms of the BMW 3 Year/36,000 Mile New Car Limited Warranty.
