SUBJECT:
Leak at Rear Window of Accessory Hardtop
MODELS:
325i Convertible Equipped with BMW Accessory Hardtop.
Situation:
A water leak may occur between the rear window and the hardtop.
Correction:
^ Locate the area of the leak.
^ Pull off the rubber cover strip from the area of the leak only, and dry the area thoroughly with warm air.
^ Clean the area to be resealed with an alcohol-type solvent, and allow to dry.
^ Force a bead of adhesive (BMW part number 81 22 9 407 526) into the gap between the window and the frame.
^ Replace the rubber strip, and allow the repair to cure for 24 hours before driving or exposing to the elements.
Warranty Status:
Covered under the terms of the BMW New Car or Spare Parts Warranty.
