Interior Lighting

The interior lights can be set for "continuous on", "off ", or "automatic (control by ZVM)".

When set to ZVM control, the interior lighting circuit incorporates a "soft on/off " feature. The lights come on dim and brighten up to full intensity, and fade down when switching off.

Switch-on conditions are as follows:

^ Any door opens.
^ Ignition switch turned to position "O" (Off) within 2 minutes of KL58
(parking lights) having been switched off.
^ Driver's door handle is raised (if equipped with door handle contacts).
^ Signal received from crash sensor.

Switch-off conditions are as follows:

^ All doors closed and ignition switched on (KL-R or 15).
^ All doors closed and vehicle locked.
^ 16 minutes after any door is opened.
^ 8 seconds after activation by driver's door handle (if equipped with door handle contact).
^ 20 seconds after all doors closed.
^ 16 seconds after activation by ignition off and parking lights on.

If equipped with door handle contact, there is a timed arrest to limit activation by the door handle to three times in l6 minutes. This repeat arrest is reset by opening and closing the door.

Note: At the time of publication of this bulletin, the door lock heating system and the door handle switch are not installed on U.S. specification vehicles.
