REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL SUMP
- Remove the dip stick. The oil dipstick can be pulled out only after tilting the grip.
- Drain oil.
- Unscrew oil filler pipe on the oil sump.
- Unscrew oil sump.
NOTE: Never reuse drained oil.
The transmission will have to be disassembled, if the oil smells burnt and is pitch black.
- Clean oil sump.
- Place magnets (1 and 2) in the oil sump.
- Install gasket (3).
- Mount oil sump with the brackets in such a manner that the short leg presses on the oil sump. Brackets with straight legs must be mounted on the sides.
- Use special tool 24 0 080 (measuring funnel) to pour in ATF.
NOTE: Approx. oil change volume 3.0 ltr. (3.2 qts.)
Total oil volume (torque convert drained) 7.5 ltr. (7.9 qts.)
Checking ATF Level
- Check oil level with the selector lever in "P", engine running at idle speed and car parked on level floor or ground, adding ATF if necessary.
- Oil level should not be below ball (1) after a test drive and with a transmission oil temperature of approx. 40 C (105 F).
- Oil level should be between the min. and max. marks with an oil temperature of approx. 80 C (175 F).
- Amount of oil between the min. and max. marks is approx. 0.6 pint (0.3 litre).
NOTE: Use only lint free cloth for cleaning dip stick.
CAUTION: Oil Level Too High: Strong foaming, splash loss, high temperature when driving fast, oil lost via the vent.
CAUTION: Oil Level Too Low: Valves rattling, foaming, engine slipping and general operating disturbances.
