Fuel Pump Relay: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The fuel pump relay provides battery power to the fuel pump.

OPERATION
The relay is energized only during engine cranking or while the engine is running (>150 RPM) by the Digital Motor Electronic (DME) control. If the engine stops with the ignition switch "ON", the DME control module will interrupt the ground circuit for the fuel pump relay, shutting down the fuel pump.
