Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Testing and Inspection

RESISTANCE TEST
- Disconnect idle speed actuator connector.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 at the idle speed actuator.

Resistance should = 8 ± 2 Ohms. If resistance is not within specifications, replace idle speed actuator.


FUNCTION TEST
- Connect a fused jumper between terminal 2 of the idle speed actuator and battery positive.
- Momentarily connect terminal 1 of the idle speed actuator to ground.

Idle speed actuator should close and open completely. Replace the idle speed actuator if the correct response in not obtained.
