Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair

REMOVE
- Disconnect battery ground lead.
- Remove air cleaner.
- Remove headlight cover.
- Disconnect lines (1 and 2).

Installation Note:
- Line (1 = rear) to brake pressure regulator.
- Line (2) to rear brake master cylinder.

CAUTION: Catch brake fluid and keep it off of clothes or painted parts.





- Disconnect lines (3 = left, 4 = right and 5).
- Unscrew bolt (6) and take off cover.

Installation Note:
- Line (3) to left front brake caliper.
- Line (4) to right front brake caliper.
- Line (5) to front brake master cylinder.

CAUTION: Don't mix up lines (mark if necessary). Keep open lines and connections clean by inserting plugs.





- Unscrew bolts (7 and 8).
- Pull off multiple pin plug.
- Disconnect ground wire (9).





- Loosen nut (10).
- Pull up and remove hydraulic unit.

INSTALL
- Install in reverse order. Pay attention to installation notes.
- Bleed brakes.
- Check the Antilock Brake System (ABS) for proper operation.
