Installation of AMCO Brand Soft Tops

Situation:
The BMW NA Parts Department has recently introduced a replacement soft top manufactured in the U.S. by AMCO (see Parts Bulletin number 11-03 dated 8/92).
The AMCO tops come with detailed installation instructions, which are slightly different than what many dealers and sublet shops have done previously.
Special attention should be paid to page 2 of the instructions, "Installation of Top Around # 5 Bow." Please note that the top material must be fastened to the sides of the # 5 bow prior to gluing the center in place. Reversal of this procedure can result in tears in the top material if too much force must be applied to stretch the material around the sides when the center is already glued in.
