This Service Information bulletin supersedes S.I. 54 04 91 (3375) dated November 1991. It corrects the part number of the replacement kit.

Please remove and discard S.I. 54 04 91 (3375) dated November 1991 from your S.I. binder, but keep the Attachment.

SUBJECT: Replaceable Rear Windows

MODELS: E30 Convertible


Situation: A new style convertible rear window has been introduced in production during August 1991. This window is located with a zipper style fastener, and is sealed to the top with a waterproof adhesive strip.

This window is easily replaceable, and reduces the cost of replacement considerably. At present, the replacement rear window can only be used in vehicles produced 8/91 or later. The part number of the replacement kit is 54 31 8 134 872.

Repair instructions are attached. Please use them until the next Repair Manual fiche is issued. The labor operation and allowance for replacement of the new style window is as follows:
