Spark Plug: Description and Operation
The spark plugs provide the gap across which the high tension voltage jumps, to create the spark that ignites the compressed air-fuel mixture.Spark Plug View:
The spark plugs consist of an insulated center electrode and triangular ground electrode. The ground electrode consists of three strips that meet above the center electrode in the shape of an inverted tripod. The tripod type electrode provides a large conductive area which maintains a constant air gap and a uniform flame front during the spark plug's service life.
NOTE: This type of spark plug requires no adjustment.
